It’s important for children and young adults to find characters like themselves in books they read. The OurStory App by We Need Diverse Books is an easy way for children, parents and educators to find the perfect diverse book - in a way that is both fun, easy and interactive.
We Need Diverse Books is a 501(c)(3) non-profit who we have worked closely with, for the last 3 years. Before they were officially an organization, we created a crowdfunding campaign video for them which raised over $350K in funds…7x their target goal of $50K.
This has since helped to launch all their current programs - mentorships, internships, grants in children’s publishing as well as scholarships, the Walter Award - and most importantly - putting more diverse books in the hands of children and young adults everywhere.
